About Givmo Charitable Fund

Our mission

Our mission is to utilize technology with a deep understanding of giving psychology to modernize and democratize charitable giving, paving the way for the next generation of donors to create a more philanthropic society.

What the Fund is

Givmo Charitable Fund is a Delaware nonprofit corporation and a tax-exempt public charity under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3), EIN 99-2418877. The IRS issued the Fund's determination letter in September 2024, recognizing its exemption effective April 1, 2024, as a public charity to which contributions are deductible under section 170. The Fund is also registered with the California Attorney General's Registry of Charitable Trusts.

As a donor-advised fund sponsor, the Fund receives charitable contributions, holds exclusive legal control over them, reviews donors' grant recommendations, and disburses grants to verified U.S. charities.

How Givmo is built

Two separate entities stand behind Givmo.

Givmo Charitable Fund is the charity: it receives your contributions and makes every grant.

The Givmo app and website are built and operated by Givfi, Inc., a technology company under contract with the Fund. Under that service agreement, Givfi licenses its software to the Fund and administers the Fund's donor-advised-fund operations, and the Fund pays Givfi up to 1% of monthly grants processed.

We state those economics plainly because you deserve to know how the platform is funded.

Transparency

The Fund publishes a public, tamper-evident audit trail of its accounting ledger, anchored to independent external witnesses and verifiable by anyone. Read how the audit trail works.
